Charitable Minded and Philly Car Guy Gary Barbera will support the Miss Philadelphia 2016 at Drexel University’s Mandell Theater, Saturday night, February 27th. The Miss Philadelphia Scholarship Program, now in its 95th year, is one of the top five local pageant scholarship award providers in the nation. The scholarship program is part of the Miss America Organization, which is the largest scholarship program for young women in America. Last year, among local, state and national pageants affiliated with the Miss America program, over 45 million dollars was awarded in scholarship money to the talented young women participating in the program.

The Miss Philadelphia and Miss America programs exist to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. It provides a forum for today’s young women to express their viewpoints,talents and accomplishments. Almost all contestants have either received, or are in the process of earning either college or postgraduate degrees, and utilizes Miss America scholarship grants to further their education.

Gary Barbera has lent his support on Saturday night, February 27th, at Drexel University’s Mandell Theater, 20 young women will be competing for the title of Miss Philadelphia 2016. The Miss Philadelphia winner will on to compete in June at the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant in Pittsburgh, PA. Miss Pennsylvania will advance to the 2014 Miss America Pageant. In the past, Miss Philadelphia has become Miss America three times: 1924, 1936 and 1940.
